Welcome to St. Patrick's Old Cathedral

Over the next few months we will increase our efforts as a parish to
involve all parishoners in some facet of our church community beyond
gathering for Sunday mass. We have initiated new activities to
encourage integral involvement. These activities include
Friday evening sports nights (basketball and indoor soccer), Thursday
evening Bible Study, 3rd Sunday of the month barbecues, 4th Sunday of
the month Art Nights, a community service organization, as well as
enhanced groups of ushers, lectors, acolytes, and choir
members.
If you are not yet involved in one of these
activities or if you have ideas for other community and faith-building
events, please write to info@oldcathedral.org and we will gladly
connect you with the appropriate person.

For 200 years this venerable and beautiful church has offered
Catholics as well as people of all ages, cultures, races and religious
backgrounds the gifts bestowed upon it by God - faith, hope and love.
After serving the new diocese of New York as its first cathedral for
seventy years, it become known as the "Old Cathedral" in 1879 with
the opening of the larger and more grand edifice at Fifth Avenue and
51st Street. Meanwhile, at the place where Mott and Prince Streets
meet, in a community that has been known as Little Italy, NOLITA (North
Little Italy) and, more recently, SOHO, we continue a ministry of
worship and service to changing populations of people.
Be our guest here at our website. But know that we are eager to meet
you in person anytime you want to visit us in person in the heart of
Old New York.
