Men and woman of all ages are invited to learn how to serve at the altar during the celebration of the Eucharist. Being an altar server is an exceptional opportunity to assist the priests and deacons of our parish in the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and to develop a more profound understanding of the liturgy. No experience is needed. We are looking for ordinary Catholics who are looking to do something for themselves and the parish that will be spiritually enriching.
By proclaiming the Word of God, men and women of the parish become part of the ministry of daily and Sunday Mass. The lectors prepare for reading through regular meditation on the Word of God. The lectors meet occasionally to discuss scriptural themes, speaking techniques and other issues that enrich the experience for both the lector and the congregation.
Eucharistic Ministry in our parish includes both distributing communion at our Sunday masses when there are not enough priests, as well as brining communion to the homebound. The Eucharistic ministers meet occasionally to discuss their role in the liturgy as well as the spirituality of the Mass.

Basilica Schola: Every Basilica has a Schola Cantorum, or choir school, dedicated to the singing of the exquisite sacred chants the Church has preserved and promulgated through the centuries. We rehearse before the 7:00 PM Mass to prepare chants, motets, and other sacred music for the 7 PM Mass, monthly Vespers, and other special concerts. Our professional music staff will help you develop your vocal technique, pronunciation, and understanding of the tradition of the Church.
Our Spanish- and Chinese-language liturgies also include the participation of enthusiastic choir members, and welcome all who wish to lift their voices (or instruments) to support congregational song. In addition to singing, there are many other ways to contribute:
1.) Play a prelude or postlude on an instrument
2.) Help at concerts by ushering and handing out programs
3.) Assist in PR and the creation of press materials for concerts
4.) Stage and event management
5.) Development and email list management
